Privacy Policy

Effective date: 1 October 2026

The short version

This policy explains how Nuri's Nest ("the app") handles information. The app is made by Fatih Ünal, trading as Poyralgo ("we", "us"). It is written to be read by a parent rather than by a lawyer, and it is deliberately short, because the app does very little with data.

1. Information we collect

We do not collect any information. We do not receive, see, store, or have any means of accessing anything about you or your child. We operate no servers for this app, and the app contains no code that sends data anywhere.

This is not a promise about intent — it is a property of how the app is built. Nuri's Nest functions identically with the device in aeroplane mode.

2. Information stored on your device

So that the app remembers where your child is up to, the following is saved in the app's private storage area on your device. None of it is transmitted, and none of it is visible to us.

WhatWhy
A nickname, if you choose to enter oneSo a child with siblings can find their own profile. It is optional, and may be left blank or be any name you like.
The animal your child pickedSo a child who cannot read can recognise their own profile.
An age band (2–3, 3–4, 4–5, 5–6)To decide how many pictures to offer as choices. No date of birth is requested.
The two languages chosenTo decide which language is spoken and which is taught.
Learning progressWhich words have been heard, found or missed, which lessons are complete, and which stickers have been earned.
Your settingsDaily goal, optional daily limit, bedtime, difficulty, sound effects, and whether written words are shown.
Minutes used per dayTo show you the week's summary and to apply any daily limit you have set.

We do not ask for, and the app has no field for, a real name, a date of birth, an email address, a telephone number, a photograph, a voice recording, a location, or any device or advertising identifier.

3. The microphone, the camera, and the photo library

The app does not use them. One activity invites a child to say a word aloud after Nuri; nothing is recorded, listened to, or judged — the app simply pauses, and then carries on. The app requests no microphone, camera, photo, location, contacts, or notification permissions.

4. Children's privacy

Nuri's Nest is designed for children aged two to six and is intended to be set up by a parent or guardian.

Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it does not collect personal information from children. We therefore have nothing to disclose, share, sell, or use for advertising, and there is no verifiable parental consent for us to obtain in order to collect data — as would be required under the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the United Kingdom Age Appropriate Design Code, or Article 8 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

In addition, in keeping with Apple's requirements for apps made for children:

5. Third parties

There are none. The app bundles no analytics, attribution, advertising, crash reporting, or social software development kits, and it contacts no third-party service while it runs.

If you download the app from the App Store, Apple will have its own record of that download, under Apple's privacy policy rather than this one. We can see only the anonymous, aggregated sales and crash statistics that Apple shows every developer; these never identify a person or a device.

6. How long anything is kept, and how to erase it

Everything is kept on your device until you remove it. You can erase it at any time:

Because we never receive any of it, there is nothing held by us for you to request, correct, or ask us to erase. If you would like confirmation of that in writing, please write to us and we will gladly provide it.

7. Your rights

Data protection law — including the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR — gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection in relation to personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for these rights to apply to. You retain the right to complain to your local supervisory authority; in the United Kingdom this is the Information Commissioner's Office.

8. Purchases

The app contains no purchases at the time of writing. Should an optional paid plan be added in future, it would be handled entirely by Apple's in-app purchase system; we would never see or store your payment details, and any purchase would sit behind the parent question. This policy would be updated before any such feature was released.

9. Security

Data stored by the app lives in your device's own app sandbox, protected by the operating system and by your device passcode or biometric lock. As nothing is transmitted, there is no transfer to intercept and no database of ours to breach.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the effective date above will change with it, and material changes will also be noted in the app. Previous versions are available on request.

11. Contact

Questions about this policy, or about privacy in Nuri's Nest, are welcome at [email protected]. We aim to reply within a few days.
